The Federal Fire Service, FFS, Gombe State Command says it saved property estimated at ₦3.117 billion from fire incidents between January and September 2026.
According to Gombe state Public Relations Officer ASF MB Bashir Press statement indicated that Command recorded 24 fire incidents and one rescue operation during the nine-month period.
According to operational statistics from the Planning, Policy, Research and Statistics Department of the Command, property worth an estimated ₦814.03 million was lost to fire incidents within the period under review.
The figures, the Command says, demonstrate the importance of prompt emergency response and effective firefighting interventions in reducing fire-related losses and protecting lives and property.
The FFS has therefore urged residents, business owners, institutions and other members of the public to observe basic fire-safety measures, avoid unsafe electrical practices and ensure that escape routes remain accessible.
The Command also advised members of the public to report fire emergencies immediately to enable firefighters to respond promptly.
