The Concerned Civil Servants Forum for Good Governance in Katsina State has unveiled plans to embark on a statewide tour of all 34 Local Government Areas to assess governance activities and government projects at the grassroots.
The decision was reached on Sunday during a meeting of the Forum’s leadership, where members reviewed issues affecting its operations and mapped out strategies for expanding its engagement across the state.
The meeting, chaired by the Forum’s Chairman, Alhaji Ya’u Hassan Fardami, was attended by members of the state executive committee.
A major focus of the deliberations was the proposed tour, which the Forum said would provide an opportunity to obtain firsthand information on developments, identify critical challenges and listen to feedback from communities across the state.
According to the Forum, the exercise is expected to cover issues relating to governance, the implementation of government projects and the concerns of residents at the local government level.
The leadership also agreed on the need to engage relevant stakeholders and government agencies before commencing the tour.
Such consultations, the Forum noted, would help secure useful advice and inputs from key stakeholders and ensure that the proposed programme is properly organised and capable of producing meaningful results.
Beyond the planned statewide engagement, the meeting also considered some of the Forum’s operational requirements, including the need for office equipment and a vehicle to support its activities.
Other issues affecting the effective functioning of the Forum were equally reviewed as the leadership continues to position the organisation for broader grassroots engagement.
The Forum said the proposed 34-LGA tour would form part of its efforts to strengthen interaction with communities and promote greater attention to governance and development issues across Katsina State.
