In a landmark decision, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has awarded Nigeria’s Super Eagles three points and three goals, penalizing Libya for their failure to host the recent qualifier.
The announcement, made by CAF Disciplinary Board Chair Ousmane Kanethe, comes after Nigerian players and staff were left stranded at an abandoned venue, forcing them to forfeit the game.
CAF has also issued a fine against Libya, condemning the nation’s treatment of visiting teams and underlining a commitment to player welfare across African football.
