In a decisive crime-busting operation, the Borno State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) arrested two suspects and seized a significant stash of illicit substances in Gwange Sabon Gari.
Kabiru Mohammed, 23, and Saidu Garba, 30, were caught red-handed with a range of narcotics, including tramadol capsules, cough syrup, and large quantities of D5 and Exol tablets. Authorities also recovered 50 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
The case has now been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Maiduguri, where further investigation is underway. Both suspects face upcoming court charges.
The Commissioner of Police, CP ML Yusufu, reiterated the Command’s commitment to rooting out criminal activity and issued a stern warning to drug peddlers across the state.
Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities via the Command’s emergency hotlines: 0806 807 5581 and 0802 347 3293.
