Borno Police Disburse ₦60M to Fallen Officers’ Families

In a heartwarming gesture of support, the Borno State Police Command has disbursed cheques totaling ₦60,507,444.17 to the families and next of kin of 34 police officers who lost their lives or were injured in the line of duty The initiative is part of the Group Life Assurance Benefits and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes spearheaded by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM.

At the presentation ceremony held at the Command Headquarters in Maiduguri, DCP A.M Bello, on behalf of CP ML Yusufu, handed over the cheques to the beneficiaries. He lauded the IGP’s commitment to the welfare of police families and encouraged recipients to utilize the funds wisely.

In a moving response, Mrs. Jagila Bitrus, representing the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for the police management’s unwavering support since her sister’s passing. She pledged to make the most of the financial assistance provided.
