The Borno State Police Command has averted a potential tragedy by recovering three dangerous projectiles in the Dala Kafanti area of Maiduguri.

Acting on a tip-off from a vigilant resident, the Command’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team swiftly neutralized the threat, ensuring the safety of the community.

At around 9:25 AM, Asabe James reported a suspicious sack behind her house. Within minutes, CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal mobilized his team to cordon off the area. Upon investigation, three projectiles were found abandoned by unidentified individuals.

Preliminary findings suggest the explosives were dropped early in the morning. Authorities are intensifying efforts to identify those responsible.

The police have intensified community sensitization on explosive ordnance risks, urging residents to report suspicious activities promptly.

The Command provided essential safety guidelines, including maintaining a safe distance from suspicious items, avoiding direct contact, and promptly reporting to the authorities.
