Borno Flood Relief: Complaint Desks Open as Payment Delays Hit Beneficiaries

The Borno State Flood Relief Committee has called on victims of flood disaster to update their payment details, urging them to switch from wallet accounts to mainstream commercial bank accounts.

The Co-Chairman of the committee, Prof. Ibrahim Umara Gudumbali, confirmed that payments made to beneficiaries through wallet services such as OPay, MoniePoint PalmPay and others had failed, as officially reported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Prof. Gudumbali urged all verified and registered beneficiaries who had previously submitted wallet accounts to provide their mainstream bank account details to ensure faster disbursement of relief funds.

He stressed that verified communities, including Gwange, Bulabulin, Budum, Shehuri North, Shehuri South and others to promptly resubmit their commercial bank account details for swift reimbursement.

Speaking to Dandal Kura Radio International, Prof. Gudumbali reassured the affected communities across the metropolis that wallet account submissions would no longer be accepted.

He also announced the establishment of complaint desks in verified areas such as Shehuri North and South, Bulabulin, Budum, and Gwange, Larawaram to assist beneficiaries to resubmit mainstream bank account information with immediate effect at Lawanti of all aforementioned communities
