In a significant operation, the joint border patrol team in Sokoto, known as Sector IV, has effectively intercepted large quantities of food destined for Niger Republic.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NSC) reported the success of the operation, revealing that the seized trucks were loaded with food items en route to the neighboring Niger Republic through the Kebbi border.

Kolapo Oladeji, the coordinating comptroller, highlighted the diligent efforts of customs officers in the Kajji community along the Sokoto-Kebbi road. The interception aligns with a firm commitment to curb food smuggling amid the current situation, with the coordinating comptroller stating, “We will leave no stone unturned to block food smuggling out of the country.”
