A One-time member in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Mohammed has urged all Nigerian patriotic citizens, regardless of their previous political affiliation to join the People’s Redemption Party (PRP).

By joining the PRP, the ex-Lawmaker said, togetherly they could build bridges, not walls, debate ideas – not insults, and replace politics of division with that of development, and equally replace empty promises with measurable performance.

Hon. Aminu Mohammed, who holds the traditional title of Dan-Malikin Bauchi, was weekend speaking speaking when he dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) into what he termed as a credible political platform, the People’s Redemption Party (PRP).

“The PRP is not merely a political platform. It is an idea. It is a philosophy. It is a commitment that public office is a sacred trust. It reminds us that the measure of a government is not the number of powerful people it serves, but the number of ordinary people whose lives it transforms”, he told the crowded event that witnessed his defection.

Dan-Maliki added, “The ideals of the PRP remain timeless: social justice, honesty in public service, quality education, affordable healthcare, rural development, economic opportunity, accountability, and respect for the dignity of every citizen. These are not outdated ideals. They are exactly what Nigeria needs today.

The defector explained that the occasion is not about changing political parties, choosing principles over convenience, or choosing conviction over comfort, and neither is it about choosing the people over power, stressing that it was after careful reflection, sincere consultation, and prayerful consideration, he decided to resign his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the People’s Redemption Party (PRP).

His defection from APC to PRP, he said, is without bitterness or.malice, but with respect for those with whom he worked over the years, with the firm belief that leadership must always answer to the unignorable cries of the people, saying across the country millions struggle daily to feed themselves, young graduates daily roam  streets for opportunities that never come, farmers work hard but harvest uncertainty, while survive parents wonder how to educate their children or pay hospital bills.

“History reminds us that every great nation was built by people who refused to surrender hope. We must build a Bauchi State where every child can receive quality education. Where every pregnant woman can access quality healthcare. Where every farmer receives the support needed to prosper. Where every young person has an opportunity to succeed. Where government becomes a trusted partner of the people. That is the Bauchi we seek”

Dan-Maliki further stated, “Let us rise together not as APC members, not as PDP members, not as people divided by tribe or religion but as Nigerians determined to reclaim the promise of our nation. Nigeria has no business being poor. With honest leadership, prudent management of our abundant resources, and a government that places the welfare of its people above every other interest”.

According to him, service is the highest calling for any reasonable person, believing that leadership must improve the lives of others, saying “Senator Shehu Buba, has accepted the responsibility of carrying the PRP banner in the 2027 governorship election in Bauchi State. I know him as a man of courage, vision, and commitment. His aspiration is not merely about winning an election. It is about building a government that works for every citizen”.

While pledging to devote his experience, relationships, and strength to ensuring that the People’s Redemption Party succeeds in Bauchi state, Dan-Maliki stated, “We shall build a movement that belongs to the people. A movement that listens before it speaks. A movement that serves before it demands. A movement that measures success by the smiles on the faces of our people rather than the size of government”

To our farmers, artisans, traders, professionals, teachers, civil servants, traditional rulers, and religious leaders: this movement belongs to you.
