Tragedy struck in Layin Minista, Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, as armed bandits attacked Maulid celebrants late last night. The assault claimed the lives of two individuals and left one person critically injured.
The attackers stormed the peaceful religious gathering, unleashing terror on the celebrants before escaping into the night. Eyewitnesses described the incident as harrowing, sparking fear and outrage in the community.
Residents are calling on the government to take swift action to curb the growing insecurity in the northwest region. Many expressed frustration over the persistent attacks that have turned once peaceful communities into battlegrounds.
“This cannot continue. The government must act now to end these killings,” a resident pleaded.
