Barely days after renewed security deployments in parts of southern Kaduna, armed bandits have again struck along the Maidoro junction in Kajuru Local Government Area, abducting four occupants of a vehicle transporting charcoal.
Security sources disclosed that the victims were travelling in a J5 Boxer vehicle, with registration number DKA 680 ZY, en route from Maro village to Kasuwan Magani when the attackers intercepted them along the deserted stretch of road.
The assailants reportedly overpowered the occupants and whisked them away to an unknown destination, leaving the vehicle behind. Those abducted were identified as Danlami Jika, Balale Ali, Abubakar Ali and Pat Buzaye.
The latest incident adds to growing concerns over the resurgence of banditry and kidnappings along rural routes in Kaduna State, particularly in Kajuru axis, where commuters and traders remain vulnerable to ambushes.
Security sources said efforts were ongoing to track the attackers and secure the safe release of the victims, even as residents renewed calls for intensified patrols and intelligence-led operations along the Maidoro–Kasuwan Magani corridor.
The attack underscores the persistent threat facing rural transporters and traders, as bandits continue to exploit isolated roads, turning daily economic activities into perilous journeys.
