Banditry: Situation in Faskari/Kankara/Sabuwa is over bearing, Hon Tafoki briefs Assembly Correspondents

The Member representing Faskari/Kankara/Sabuwa Federal Constituency, Hon Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki has described the recurring attacks by Bandits in Kankara and parts of Faskari Local Government Areas of Katsina State as disturbing and over bearing.

Hon Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki while briefing National Assembly Correspondents today in Abuja said that the insecurity in his Constituency is far from being controlled but rather peaking to a phenomena.

“It is unfortunate that as I speak to you now, I have lost count on the number of lives lost, the number of houses and vehicles burnt as a result of the several attacks by bandits.”

Hon Tafoki remarked that there is general apprehension in the affected areas, adding that people are constantly worried and stressed out.

He pointed out that most people especially the Men no longer sleep in their homes while women and children have to go to safer towns such as Funtua, Malumfashi daily to pass the night.
The lawmaker noted the effort of the Katsina State Governor, Mall Umar Dikko Radda for doing his best to curtail the situation.

Hon Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki urged key players in national security and other stakeholders to do the needful by prioritizing safety and security Nigerian and the people.

Hon Tafoki had earlier visited some of the affected areas and offered assistance of food items, building materials as well as cash donations to bereaved families to soothe their traumatic condition.
