Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has carried out a minor reshuffle of the Bauchi State Executive Council, with three commissioner nominees forwarded to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery.
The cabinet changes, announced in a statement by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, saw the immediate exit of the Commissioner for Commerce, Industries and Investment, Mohammed Salis Gamawa, and Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam, who had recently been moved from the Ministry of Education to the Ministry of Power, Science and Technology.
Also leaving the cabinet is the former Commissioner for Rural Development and Special Duties, Hon. Faruk Mustapha, whose resignation was accepted by Governor Mohammed.
The statement said the governor has already submitted the names of three new commissioner nominees to the Bauchi State House of Assembly. The nominees are expected to fill the vacancies created by the latest exits, as well as earlier openings in the State Executive Council, pending legislative approval.
Governor Mohammed thanked the outgoing commissioners for what he described as their dedication, loyalty and contributions to the growth and development of Bauchi State during their time in office.
He wished them success in their future engagements and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a more responsive, efficient and result-driven government capable of delivering greater dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
