The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 14, Katsina, AIG Bello Shehu, has charged officers and men of the Katsina State Police Command to uphold professionalism, discipline, and operational effectiveness in the fight against insecurity.
The AIG gave the directive during an official working visit to the Katsina State Police Command Headquarters on May 12, 2026.
AIG Bello Shehu, whose zone covers Katsina and Kaduna states, was received by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Umar Fage, alongside members of the command’s management team.
Addressing officers during a special parade and lecture session, the senior police officer commended the command for its recent successes in tackling banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes across the state.
He delivered a lecture centered on intelligence-led policing, operational efficiency, police ethics, and the need to strengthen public confidence through professionalism and respect for human rights.
The AIG urged officers to remain vigilant, proactive, and law-abiding while carrying out their duties, stressing that all police operations must be conducted within the confines of the law.
He also warned against corruption, extortion, and any act capable of tarnishing the image of the Nigeria Police Force, declaring zero tolerance for misconduct.
Responding, the Katsina State Commissioner of Police thanked the AIG for the visit and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to implementing his directives and maintaining high policing standards.
The visit concluded with an interactive session between the AIG and officers of the command.
