Pan-African media initiative, Afromedia, has congratulated Egyptian news platform Cairo 24 after it clinched the prestigious “Best Website in Middle East” title at the Trend Awards ceremony.
Founder of Afromedia, Hassan Ghazaly, praised the outlet’s editorial team led by Editor-in-Chief, journalist Mahmoud El-Mamlouk, describing the recognition as proof of the platform’s rapid rise and growing influence across Egypt, Africa and the wider Middle East.
Ghazaly said Cairo 24 has distinguished itself through speedy, accurate and credible news reporting, while also maintaining strong coverage of African and international affairs.
He noted that the award reflects the growing capacity of Egyptian media institutions to promote development issues across Africa, amplify the voices of African peoples, and spotlight the continent’s opportunities and challenges.
According to him, the honour places greater responsibility on leading media organizations to sustain professional journalism that promotes public awareness, justice, development and stronger African representation in global media narratives.
Ghazaly also commended Mahmoud El-Mamlouk for supporting African journalists through free media training programmes organized under the Afromedia initiative.
Founded in 2021 under the slogan “Voice of Egypt… Voice of Africa,” Afromedia serves as a media bridge connecting African peoples while helping journalists and media professionals across the continent sharpen their skills and expand professional collaboration.
