Shehu Sani: “Chasing Beggars from Abuja is Like Hiding Our Sickness, Not Curing It”

Former Senator Shehu Sani has stirred conversation on his X account, criticizing the clampdown on beggars in Abuja.

He likened the move to “hiding our sickness instead of curing it” and “hiding our laundry instead of cleaning it.” Sani argued that the presence of beggars reflects deeper societal issues.

“The Abuja beggars don’t tarnish our image,” he said. “They represent the hidden images of our society that we don’t want the world to see.”
