KATSINA — Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has received a major political boost ahead of the 2027 general elections as over 2,000 members of the Iyaloja General Movement staged a solidarity march to endorse his re-election bid and that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The mobilisation brought together members of the movement from nine local government areas of Katsina State, namely Danmusa, Charanchi, Batagarawa, Katsina, Kaita, Mani, Rimi, Kurfi and Dutsi.

Speaking during the visit, the Katsina State Coordinator of the movement, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Na-Mutumchi, said the rally was organised to demonstrate the group’s commitment to supporting President Tinubu and Governor Radda in the 2027 elections.

Na-Mutumchi disclosed that the movement had a membership structure of 36,252, explaining that the more than 2,000 participants who took part in the solidarity march were selected from its wider membership.

He assured the governor that the group would sustain its mobilisation efforts across the state to strengthen support for the two leaders ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The movement, according to Na-Mutumchi, was established by the President’s daughter, Chief (Mrs.) Dr. Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, to mobilise grassroots support for President Tinubu.

Responding, Governor Radda commended Na-Mutumchi for his dedication and personal commitment to the movement, describing his approach to service as worthy of recognition.

The governor noted that the coordinator had consistently deployed his personal resources to support the group’s activities without seeking personal benefits from the state government.

“Since he started this service, he has never come to ask us for anything. Whatever he does, he does with his personal resources. In Sha Allah, we will also uphold the trust he has demonstrated,” Radda said.

The governor also expressed appreciation to the members for their show of solidarity, urging political groups and their supporters to promote peace, unity and responsible democratic participation.

The endorsement adds to the political mobilisation taking shape ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political groups increasingly positioning themselves in support of candidates seeking another term in office.

The Iyaloja General Movement said it remained committed to expanding its grassroots engagement throughout Katsina State in support of Tinubu and Radda’s re-election ambitions.
