As political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Gombe State, the campaign team of the APC governorship candidate, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, has urged residents to prioritise competence, vision and capacity over political rhetoric in choosing the state’s next leader.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Sani Shawai, the campaign described the 2027 poll as a defining moment that will determine whether Gombe consolidates its developmental gains or loses momentum.
According to the statement, the state requires a leader with the experience, energy and foresight to build on the achievements of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya while introducing innovative policies capable of driving sustainable economic growth.
The campaign argued that leadership in the modern era should be judged by character, competence and commitment to public service rather than sentiments, insisting that Gombe needs a governor who sees youths, women and local communities as critical partners in development.
Highlighting Gwamna’s credentials, the statement said his track record in the private sector, investments in education and healthcare, support for youth empowerment and commitment to job creation demonstrate a leadership philosophy centred on service and people-oriented development.
