From Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has stepped up its preparations for the 2027 general elections with the appointment of campaign coordinators across the state’s 17 Local Government Areas.
The move, announced by the state APC Chairman, Alhaji Mohammad Gadaka, is designed to take the party’s mobilisation drive directly to the grassroots and consolidate support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Mai Mala Buni and the APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali (BMW).
The list of the newly appointed coordinators was contained in a statement signed by Gadaka and made available to journalists in Damaturu through his Press Secretary, Hajiya Sa’adatu Maina.
Unlike a routine campaign appointment, the BMW structure is being positioned as a major grassroots political machinery ahead of the 2027 polls, with coordinators expected to strengthen the party’s presence and mobilisation network in their respective local government areas.
The appointments come against the backdrop of efforts by the Yobe APC leadership to close ranks among party members and reconcile different political tendencies that emerged during and after the party’s primaries.
Political observers say the deployment of coordinators to all 17 LGAs could provide the APC with a stronger organisational framework as the party begins laying the groundwork for the next electoral battle.
Under the arrangement, the coordinators are expected to serve as key links between the party leadership and supporters at the grassroots, helping to drive voter engagement, unity and campaign activities ahead of 2027.
