Zulum’s Media Office Raises Alarm Over Fake Facebook Account

The Borno State Government has issued a strong public warning over a fake Facebook account impersonating Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, describing it as a “fraudulent and unauthorised platform” created to mislead the public.

In a statement from Government House, Senior Technical Assistant on Print and Digital Communications to the Governor, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, alerted Nigerians to the circulating impersonator account operating under the name “Engr Babagana Umara Zulum.”

According to the statement, the page is neither official nor remotely linked to Governor Zulum, his media team, or the Borno State Government. The public is advised to immediately disregard the account and treat any posts, messages, or requests from it as fraudulent.

Officials warned that anyone who engages with the fake account does so “entirely at their own risk,” stressing that the government bears no responsibility for losses, misinformation, or deceit arising from interactions with the impostor.

The Government House urged supporters, associates, and the general public to rely strictly on the Governor’s verified Facebook pages for credible information and official updates.
