Zulum’s Housing Drive Gets Boost as Gubio Inspects 100 Housing Unit Project Site

…. Commissioner pledged speedy commencement of staff quarters for teaching hospital

Borno State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Mustapha Gubio, has inspected the proposed site for the construction of 100 housing units intended for junior staff of the Borno State University Teaching Hospital.

The commissioner, who also serves as the Co-Chairman of the State Housing Construction Committee, led a delegation to the location, yesterday (25th-06-2025) describing the project as a significant step towards addressing the housing deficit in the state. He commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for his developmental vision and commitment to improving critical infrastructure across Borno.

Engr. Gubio assured that construction work on the staff quarters will commence soon, stressing that the initiative aligns with Governor Zulum’s 25-Year Development Framework and 10-Year Strategic Transformation Plan aimed at delivering the dividends of democracy to citizens.

The delegation also visited other ongoing projects within the Borno State University Teaching Hospital complex, including the construction of a 400-bed capacity building and a 24-bed modern ward. The Site Engineer, Usman Tijjani, conducted the team around the facility and assured that the work would be completed by the end of August 2025.

Gubio lauded the governor’s continued investment in health and housing infrastructure, noting that such efforts were vital in enhancing the welfare of healthcare workers and improving services for the public.

In a related development, the commissioner inspected the ongoing construction of the Molai bypass and a new trailer park designed to accommodate up to 70 trailers. He expressed satisfaction with the progress and reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to ensuring timely and quality project delivery.
