In a determined push to open up rural communities and ease movement across Borno, the state government has intensified its township road and drainage projects under the leadership of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
Borno State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Mustapha Gubio, led a high-powered inspection team to multiple project sites across Askira, Damboa, Chibok, and Gwoza LGAs. Accompanied by Ministry officials and BORMA Chairman Engr. Sadu Auno, the Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the ongoing works and praised the construction teams for maintaining high standards.
In Askira, Engr. Gubio inspected road construction and culvert installations, announcing additional outfalls and drainage systems to tackle flooding threats. “This is more than infrastructure—it’s about access, trade, and safety for our people,” he stated.
The team also visited key culvert and asphalt production sites in Damboa and Chibok. In Pulka, Gwoza LGA, attention shifted to a newly procured crusher machine, part of the government’s strategy to boost road-building capacity using quality in-house materials.
With work progressing steadily, the Zulum administration is visibly transforming the landscape of Borno—one road at a time.
