Zulum Warns of Consequences in Presidential Push for Tax Bill

Katsina state government

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has weighed in on the ongoing debate over the proposed tax bill, highlighting the potential consequences of its passage on ordinary Nigerians.

Speaking during a policy forum, Zulum acknowledged the constitutional powers of President Bola Ahmed Tinibu to push the legislation through but stressed the importance of considering its impact. “We know the power of the president. I’m a system man; I respect him. If the president wants to use his power to pass the tax bill, he may have his way, but it has its consequences for the people,” the governor stated.
