Zulum, Thread with caution: teachers’ controversy and the office of the SA Media

#Zulum238Projects #Term2 Focus: Education (54 Projects) Zulum's 5th year in office, consolidating on sterling 4 years of the first tenure. “1,195 Projects and Counting.” Series on 238 projects in the first year of the second tenure of Governor Zulum.

In recent days, there has been a spotlight on Governor Zulum of Borno State, with sharp twists, turns and mounting criticism over his handling of the salaries of teachers in the state.

Sometime towards the 2023 elections, the same issue trended on the internet but the recent one seem particularly well orchestrated and more coordinated, with manifest and latent intents for the discerning onlooker.

Many people have been following the trend on a neutral ground. But I also believe that there are many like, me who are looking far beyond just the mere social media gimmick. One question keeps crossing my mind: Could there be an ulterior motive, with a twist of a political dimension?

Bluntly speaking, have you not noticed a curious pattern in the criticism of the current media handlers of the Governor?

Would anyone not care to ask why now, and why is the onslaught so coordinated in a manner that the criticism to undermine his media team is coming in tango with the teachers’ salary saga?

A critical evaluation will show you that Zulum is just a victim of circumstance from people with sinister motives who think they can manipulate the complexities of teachers’ salaries in Borno to portray his media team as incompetent and justify the need for their appointment as the Special Adviser on Media to His Excellency.

Oh! What a crude and unprofessional approach!

Dear Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, please note that there is nothing wrong with your media team, despite the passing away of an ‘indefatigable late Isa Gusau’. Please, refer to your media visibility, public goodwill and public opinion before the grand deception came with the teachers’ salary saga.

Governor Zulum, I want you to also think critically and wisely while exercising caution in dealing with individuals who may be vying for or fronting for others who are vying for the office of the SA Media, as well as those in your cabinet who may pretend to show you that they are working in your interest. You should also think on why such a call became more louder in the midst of a manipulative crisis? Do they need to drag your hard earned credibility, respect and honour in the mud just for an appointment? No! All the drama was unnecessary. They have actually worked against your interest by manipulating a sensitive matter to gain access into the corridors of power.

Please sir, think aloud and dissect the unfolding events by considering the problem wisely. Also, deploy knowledge and skill of logic and the experiences of critical evaluation acquired from your days at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru and beyond. Lastly, follow your instincts; it usually never leads one astray.
