In a stirring display of unity and purpose, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum and the resilient people of Southern Borno State have reaffirmed their shared commitment to rebuilding communities, restoring livelihoods, and strengthening the peace that anchors the region’s future.
Across Askira-Uba, Chibok, Gwoza, Hawul, Biu, Kwaya Kusar and Shani, residents poured out in large numbers as Zulum toured project sites, inspected ongoing works, and unveiled a fresh wave of development initiatives tailored to local needs. The atmosphere was charged with optimism as traditional rulers, youth groups, women associations and community leaders hailed the governor’s “hands-on leadership” and his unwavering presence in areas once scarred by conflict.
From rehabilitating rural roads and expanding healthcare access, to revitalising schools and boosting agricultural support for farmers, Zulum’s message was clear: Southern Borno is not just part of the state— it is a priority.
Speaking during one of the stops, the governor reassured citizens that his administration remains committed to ensuring security, fostering economic empowerment, and accelerating infrastructure development. “The courage and resilience of the people of Southern Borno inspire us to do more,” he said. “Together, we are building a future where every community thrives.”
Residents expressed gratitude for the renewed government attention, noting that Zulum’s interventions have restored a sense of belonging and accelerated the return of normalcy. Marketplaces are growing again, farmers are back on their land, and social life is steadily recovering— signs that peace is gaining deeper roots.
With confidence high and collaboration stronger than ever, the partnership between Governor Zulum and the good people of Southern Borno stands as a powerful model of post-conflict recovery— a testament to what visionary leadership and community resilience can achieve when united by a common purpose.
