Zulum Orders Crackdown on Reckless Driving as Gubio Meets State Truck Drivers

Borno State Government

The Borno State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Mustapha Gubio, has convened a crucial meeting with all state government truck drivers, following the directive of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.

The meeting, held in Maiduguri, was prompted by recent road crashes involving government trucks in the metropolis and surrounding areas. The incidents, reportedly caused by excessive speeding, disregard for traffic signals, and reckless driving in crowded zones, have raised serious public safety concerns.

Addressing the drivers, Engr. Gubio reminded them that they serve as official representatives of the state government and must therefore demonstrate discipline and professionalism at all times. He stressed the need for strict compliance with traffic rules, urging them to drive responsibly to prevent further loss of lives and property.

Abubakar Ali Baware, and a representative of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
