In a proactive move to combat the escalating issue of kidnapping, the Zamfara State Government has announced restricted movement along its borders with Katsina and Sokoto. From 7:00 pm to 6:00 am, travel along the Yankara border with Katsina and Bimasa border with Sokoto will be restricted, as revealed by Manir Haidara, the Commissioner for Information and Culture.

The decision, stemming from the State Security Council Meeting, aims to address the rampant kidnapping of travellers along the Sokoto-Gusau-Funtua highway. This strategic measure is part of the state government’s broader efforts to curb kidnapping activities by bandits, particularly along highways in Zamfara.
