The Zamfara State Governor’s Wife, Hajiya Huriya Dauda Lawal has expressed hope to have one female as chairperson in the next local government council election in the state.
Speaking during an interview with Press in Gusau, Zamfara State capital, Hajia Hurriya said the election of 14 fourteen female Councillors was a great achievement to the female folk.
She therefore, stressed the need for the council chairmen to the female Councillors necessary support and cooperation in the discharge of their responsibility.
“We look forward to see that, female councillors are given equal opportunities with their make counterpart in handlung assignment”, She added.
Wife of the Governor, said female as mothers wiuld have a great role to play in providing dividend of democracy, especially, in the area health repeated sectors
She commended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the opportunity given to the female to contest in the election
She noted with satisfaction with turn of the female to contest in the last election as it was the first time numerous female councillors in the state.
She appealed to women to embark on massive sensitization of women to partake seriously in political activities to check mate marginalizatiion of women in the scheme of things
