Zamfara Police Rally Political Parties for Peace Accord Ahead of By-Election

Katsina state government

With the crucial Zamfara State Assembly by-election just hours away, the Zamfara State Police Command has brought political leaders under one roof to sign a peace accord, reinforcing its determination to ensure a violence-free poll.

At a meeting held yesterday, August 15, 2025, inside the Command’s Conference Hall in Gusau, Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, psc+, charged all party leaders and candidates to shun violence, hate speech, vote buying, and any act capable of undermining the credibility of the process.

The peace accord, signed by state chairmen of all political parties, seeks to promote mutual respect among contestants, encourage lawful campaigns, and guarantee peaceful engagement before, during, and after the election scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025.
