In a poignant gesture of compassion and commitment, the Zamfara State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, has disbursed ₦16.8 million to the families of 15 gallant officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

At a solemn ceremony held on June 17, 2025, at the Command Headquarters in Gusau, CP Maikaba presented a total of ₦16,899,245.94 on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM. The payments were made under the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and IGP Family Welfare Scheme—a testament to the Force’s enduring support for its own.

CP Maikaba delivered a heartfelt tribute, assuring the grieving families that their loved ones’ sacrifices would never be forgotten. “The Inspector-General of Police remains fully committed to the welfare of all personnel, both serving and departed,” he stated. He also encouraged the beneficiaries to use the funds wisely in ways that would sustain their futures.

Mr. Dahiru Lawali, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to the Nigeria Police Force for standing by them during their darkest hour.

The event stood as a powerful reminder of the price paid by law enforcement officers and the unyielding bond that continues even beyond the badge.
