Gov. Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has call for involvement of traditional rulers in the management of Local Government for effective services delivery.
The called was contained in a statement by the Information Officer Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abdullahi Muhammad and made available to newsmen in Gusau on Tuesday.
According to the statement the Gov. who was represented by the Deputy Governor Mallam Mani Mummune said involvement of traditional rulers and other critical stakeholders will no doubt poster growth and development in the councils.
The governor made the called at a workshop organised by Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to Council Chairmen and their Vice Chairmen in Kaduna
to prepared them ahead of their task of managing council resources.
“As rescued mission I urged you to run inclusive government that will bring positive change to your respective communities.
“You are also required to carry out all developmental projects within the constitutional framework to ensure law and order in your councils”. He said
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Garba Ahmed advised the council leaders to honest and hardworking in order to bring meaningful achievement.
