The wife of the Governor of Zamfara State, Huriyya Dauda Lawal collaboration with the Zakkat and Endowment Board, distributed rice and cash to the less privileged across the nineteen emirate councils to help reduce the high level of abject poverty in the state.
In her display of compassion and kindness, the Governor’s wife has now inaugurated a debt settlement initiative for no fewer than one thousand individuals across the nineteen emirate councils at the State Zakkat Collection, Distribution, and Endowment Board.
She stated that the initiative aims to reunite families, restore dignity, and empower individuals to become self-reliant.

(Media and Communication said ,Huriyya Dauda Lawal announced that approximately one thousand people will benefit from this commendable program.
“The Governor’s wife highlighted that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, directed the Zakkat and Endowment Board to intervene in settling debts, particularly for those taken to correctional centres due to their inability to pay.
She emphasized that a committee has been formed under the Grand Khadi, alongside the Comptroller of Prisons and Ulamas, tasked with the responsibility of settling debts and helping to mend broken marriages.
Additionally, Huriyya Dauda Lawal provided cash grants and bags of rice to the beneficiaries to promote self-reliance and urged them to avoid taking out loans to maintain their dignity.
“I would like to inform the good citizens of our dear state that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, is making significant efforts to ease the suffering of the privileged and vulnerable across the state. Huriyya said.
She, therefore, assured that the initiative is an ongoing effort.
