The Federal Government under the Renewed Hope Initiative, collaborate Tony Elumelu Foundation to recapitalise 500 business women in Zamfara.
Distributing the grants the Nigeria First Lady Oluraimi Tuninu said “we officially flagging of the women economic empowerment program under the renewed hope initiative in partnership with the Tony Elumelu foundation for the recapitalization of 500 business women with N50,000 each.
Tunibu represented by the Wife of Zamfara Governor, Hajiya Hurria Lawal said the distribution was more than just a ceremony. But powerful sign of real opportunity to 500 carefully chosen women from the state.
The nominated business women were truly in need of the N50,000 intervention to boost their business and improved livelihood of their families.
The support was not a loan to be repaid rather a gift and investment in the resilience hard work and unbreakable spirit of the Nigerian woman.
She appreciated Tony Elumelu Foundation for remarkable donation of 1 billion investment in the Nigerian women this proves that when government and the private sector put hands together with compassion and vision lives would be transformed.
In addition to the grand each beneficiary will also receive a back of rice and transportation allowance back to their respective destination to grow their business, “and do not share it with anyone else let’s embrace this opportunity with courage and determination.
In her remarks the Commissioner for Women Affairs Children and Social Development, Dr. Aisha Anka said” I am deeply grateful to our Mother the first Lady of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tunibu for meeting to our women aspirations and her tireless vision of restoring dignity and hope in our nation.
“Your leadership reminds us that true greatness we can uplift the most vulnerable amongst us and raise them to a bitter live and economic prosperity”.
She called on beneficiaries to consider the gesture as more them financial support, it is a message of comfort that can change the narrative of their economic status for a bitter wellbeing.
