Borno State Government

In a decisive move to guarantee a peaceful yuletide and New Year celebration, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Katsina State Command, has deployed 1,256 officers across the state to safeguard lives and protect critical national assets and infrastructure.

The deployment was approved by the State Commandant, AD Moriki, who announced the operation on Monday, December 22, 2025, while issuing an operational order at the Command Headquarters in Katsina.

Addressing the senior management team, the Commandant said the strategy for the festive period has been strengthened through intensive surveillance, intelligence gathering, community engagement, and robust inter-agency collaboration to ensure sustained peace and security before, during, and after the celebrations.

He directed all Heads of Departments and Units, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Unit Commanders, and Special Forces to ensure seamless coordination and effective patrols across the state. Deployed personnel were charged to remain disciplined, professional, and dedicated, while working in synergy with sister security agencies to guarantee a hitch-free yuletide.

According to the operational order, personnel have been strategically stationed at churches, markets, motor parks, recreational and event centres, festive locations, as well as key federal, state, and local government facilities. Undercover operatives have also been deployed to sensitive locations to provide real-time intelligence capable of neutralising the activities of miscreants.

The Commandant urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements or items to the nearest NSCDC office. He also extended warm felicitations to Christian faithful in the state, wishing them a joyful Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
