ActionAid Nigeria and Dispute Resulution and Initiative Development Group(DAG) has commamurate the international Day for youth on creating sustainable self for solution by Digital Technologies

The programme which organised by the said two Groups has the theme for the year, From Clicks to Progress.

The Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development” which focuses on how digitalisation is reshaping our society and providing unparalleled opportunities to fast-track sustainable development and digital technologies which play a crucial role in youth empowerment.

“We are elinghteen youth on conflict mitigation by the way preventing and countering violent extremism and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), precisely the SDG 16 which seeks to address Peace, Justice and strong institution.

“To this end we are celebrating the digital contributions of youth in driving change and creating sustainable solutions.”

The Deputy Country Director, Haiya Suwaiba Muhammad Dankabo made the call during a Youth Summit organized in collaboration with Dispute Resolution and Development Initiative to commemorate the International Youth Day in Kano State.

in his address, the Executive Director Dispute Resolution and Development Initiative, Dr. Mustapha Yahaya said the aim of the youth summit is to expose the youth to various opportunities on the ICT with the aim at addressing the menace of unemployment.

He said the theme was carefully selected with cognizance to the current unemployment that is bringing a hindrance to the development of the youths.

Muhammad Mustapha also challenged the parents, guardians and role models on their roles to be gatekeepers and ensure their wards optimally and positively tap from the available opportunities with the use of the technological advancement.

“Digital technologies such as mobile devices, services, and artificial intelligence are instrumental in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Data generated from digital interactions supports evidence-based decision-making. With profound impact across economic, social and environmental dimensions.

In his remarks the Kano State Commissioner of Youths and Sport Development, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso who was represented by Alhaji Nura Rabiu said the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is working assiduously in providing more window opportunities for the teaming youth in state.

The Commissioner also appriciated the efforts of actionAid Nigeria and DAG for the commitment and providing various enlightenment,initiatives for the teaming youths in several communities of the state

Kwankwasos saying it would go a long way in addressing violent extremism in Kano but their administration is doing well to tackle it.
