Yobe Islamic Cleric  Urges Youth to Avoid Nationwide Protest As Scheduled

Yobe Islamic cleric Ustaz Babagana Mallam Kyeri has issued a plea to the public, particularly the youth, to refrain from participating in the upcoming nationwide protest scheduled to take place from tomorrow August 1st to August 10th, 2024 respectively.

In his statement in Damaturu the Yobe State capital,  Mallam Kyeri acknowledged the economic challenges faced by the average Nigerian, describing them as temporary.

He emphasized the importance of engaging with the government through dialogue rather than resorting to protests, which he warned could be exploited by troublemakers leading to severe consequences.

This appeal follows a recent voice message released by Mallam Kyeri, where he highlighted the negative outcomes observed in other countries from similar protests and the recent experiences with the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARSP) protests in Nigeria last time.

Babagana Malam Kyari who is Special Adviser to Governor Mai Mala Buni on Religion Affairs stressed, the significance of approaching challenges with a positive and strategic mindset, urging leaders of the proposed protest to carefully consider their actions and decisions.

The Islamic cleric advised against hasty reactions driven by emotions, advocating for a thorough analysis of the situation before taking any steps.

The scholar encouraged individuals to think innovatively and seek constructive solutions to address community issues, promoting unity and coordination among participants to effectively communicate concerns without resorting to violence or confrontation respectively.

Malam Kyari emphasized the importance of patience and gradual progress in effecting change, urging individuals to remain committed to peaceful and constructive dialogue as the key to resolving issues and moving forward positively any where in the world.
