The Yobe State Government, through the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Alhaji Baba Malam Wali has organized a three-day capacity-building workshop for members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Yobe State Council.
The workshop, held at the Tahir Guest Palace Hotel, brought together government officials, senior journalists, and media practitioners from the different charpels to deliberate on issues central to democratic governance and the development of Yobe State atlarge.
The workshop with the theme “The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Democratic Governance and Contemporary Issues in the Development of Yobe State”,
The particular event provided a platform for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and the strengthening of collaboration between the media and government in fostering transparency, accountability, and good governance respectively.
The workshop featured paper presentations, interactive sessions, and discussions aimed at equipping journalists with modern tools for effective reportage, promoting professional ethics, and addressing emerging challenges in media practice.
Participants emphasized the important role of the media as a bridge between government and citizens, highlighting the importance of accurate information dissemination in sustaining democracy and driving state development.
In his speech during the opening the workshop the commissioner ministry of home affairs, information and culture Alhaji Abdullahi Bego stated this, the governor Buni administration is founded on the idea of n inclusive, all-out and broad based socio economic development of Yobe state under the mantra of continuity , consolidation and innovation.
