Yobe attracts industries, reforms indigenous firms to boost revenue — SSG

Yobe state government has realigned state indigenous firms for profitable engagements and attracted establishment of other industries for economic growth and development in the state.

The Secretary to the State Government,
Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, stated this at news conference part of the six year stewardship of Gov. Mai Mala Buni.on Monday in Damaturu.

” in our continuous efforts to boost commerce and promote industrialization, state government reactivated the Sahel Aluminum Company, Yobe Flour and Feed Mills Company and Pre-stressed Concrete Pole Company.

 

” State government also completed the Ibrahim Geidam Ultra-Modern Market, Damaturu, Senator Ahmed I. Lawan Modern Market, Gashua and the Sheikh Ngibirima Ultra-Modern Market N guru.

” Other comprised completion of Potiskum market, Ngalda, Machina, Yunusari, Buni-Yadi while construction works are ongoing in Geidam Market,” Wali said.

The SSG explained that the construction of Potiskum Truck Transit Park and Mega Shopping Mall in Damaturu are ongoing while in recognition that the state has largest production of high quality Sesame seeds, state government completed construction of 4 Sesame Seeds processing factories in Damaturu, Potiskum, Nguru and Machina towns.

” To further boost commercial activities, the state government constituted the Ease of Doing Business Council under the chairmanship of His Excellency, the Executive Governor and investors can now get easy access to information on our current business enabling reforms and potentialities of the State through our website.

” The construction of Damaturu City Mall has reached 70 per cent with an expected date of completion in the first quarter of 2026.

He said all the initiative were feared toward rejuvenating commercial activities in the state with much investment of agriculture sector toward harnessing state human and mineral resources potentialities.
