Yobe Assembly Call On Executive To Take Proactive Measures On Motorist Accident

Yobe state House of Assembly has called on executive arm of government to take proactive measures to control the incessant motorist accidents in Ngelzarma, Damagum and Dogon Kuka towns along Damaturu – Potiskum highway 

The House made the call while receiving a motion of urgent public importance presented by the member representing Damagum Constituency Hon Maina Digma Gana on motorist accidents  

The Member said the increase of motorist accidents at the areas is worrisome that need government’s urgent intervention to protect the lives of the people 

Hon Maina Digma Gana said from January 2025 to date over thirty people lost their lives in Damagum town as a result of motorist accidents along Damaturu – Potiskum highway 

The Lawmaker urged the state government to construct roundabout in Damagum and road booms in Ngelzarma and Dogon Kuka towns in order to reduce the over speed of motorist playing the road 

Supporting the motion, the majority leader of the House Hon Nasiru Hassan Yusuf and member representing Karasuwa constituency Hon Adamu Dala Dogo stressed the need for federal raod safety and YOROTA to sensitize motorist to avoid over speed and reckless driving 

Presiding over the sitting, the speaker of the House Rt Hon Chiroma Buba Mashio called on members of the national Assembly representing Yobe state to present the matter at the national Assembly for federal government intervention
