Yankuzo Airstrike: No Civilian Deaths, Just Defeated Terrorists

Katsina state government

The 4 August Nigerian Air Force precision strike in Yankuzo, Tsafe LGA, has sparked familiar — and false — claims of “civilian casualties” at an alleged wedding. But events on the ground tell a very different story.

Hours after the strike, remnants of Ado Allero’s gang kidnapped the village monarch, suspecting he leaked intelligence that led to the killing of over 30 armed fighters. He was later released — proof the gathering was no wedding party, but a militant assembly.

The so-called “wedding guests” later mounted an ambush against troops, killing one soldier and injuring another. Eyewitnesses and local sources confirm: no civilians were killed, and no credible evidence of civilian deaths has surfaced — no names, no graves, no mourning families.

Residents, relieved at the removal of the fighters, have dismissed the propaganda as a recycled ploy to paint armed terrorists as harmless villagers.

The unanswered question remains: where are the supposed victims?
