In a bold move to combat economic strain and strengthen campus safety, Borno State University (BOSU) has distributed 100 bicycles to its security personnel.

At a brief presentation ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babagana Gutti, handed over the bicycles, emphasizing that the initiative aims to improve mobility, punctuality, and overall productivity of the security team.

“This is not just about easing transportation; it’s about enhancing your efficiency and commitment to securing the university,” Prof. Gutti said. He sternly warned against any attempt to misuse or sell the bicycles, noting that such actions will attract strict penalties.

Registrar Mrs. Jallaba M. Sheikh echoed the VC’s stance, urging the beneficiaries to be time-conscious and dedicated, saying, “Late coming will not be entertained.”

Chief Security Officer Malam Yusuf Yari, in response, hailed the gesture as timely and motivating, pledging improved oversight and calling on his team to rise to the occasion.

More bicycles are expected to arrive in the coming weeks, as part of what the VC described as a “larger productivity drive” for the institution’s workforce.
