The Executive Chairman of Nguru Local Government Area, Alhaji Mohammad Ahmad Mairami, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to improving education and healthcare delivery across the council.
Mairami made this known during an extensive advocacy and sensitisation tour to several northern villages of Nguru, including Maidashi, Bisari, Yakubari, Zomana, Dabule, Kachallari, Balangwa, Baganari, Kurnawa, Mallam Babu, Karim Bari, Dumar Hausawa, Dumar Mangawa, Lawanti, and Dagirari, among others.
The Chairman, accompanied by the Education Secretary, Alhaji Hamisu Ado, and the Primary Health Care Coordinator, Abubakar Dahiru, engaged community members on the importance of education, healthcare, and positive social change.
“All we need from you is attitudinal change — we want all of you to change for the better,” Mairami urged the villagers. “Send your wards to school. Only by doing so will we grow in all aspects of our lives. Education and health remain our top priorities, and that’s why we are here — to engage you for a better future.”
Speaking during the visit, the Education Secretary, Alhaji Hamisu Ado, emphasized that education is a fundamental right for every Nigerian child. He called on parents to ensure that all school-age children are enrolled and retained in school, describing education as the foundation of sustainable development.
The Primary Health Care Coordinator, Abubakar Dahiru, also reiterated the council’s commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare services in rural areas, noting that community engagement remains key to achieving better health outcomes.
The tour, which covered several remote communities, aimed to bridge communication gaps between the council and residents, promote community participation, and strengthen collaboration in advancing education and health services.
Hon. Mairami assured residents that his administration would continue to reach out to hard-to-reach areas, ensuring that every citizen benefits from government programs and developmental initiatives.
“Our mission is simple — no child should be left behind in school, and no family should be denied access to basic healthcare,” he concluded.
