It was a joyful moment for the Arabic Head Teachers deployed by Nguru Local Education Authority when they were invited for a meeting for the first time by the Ag. Education Secretary, Mallam Hamisu Ado.
The gathering could not hide their feelings because when they were gaven the chance to talk, speaker after speaker disclosed the kind of ill treatment they were subjected to over the years.
The first speaker who happened to be a woman expressed her ordeal saying ” I rose through the rank to the status of a Arabic Head Teacher now I have put in 24 years in service but this is the first time to be called for a discussion on how best to improve the service delivery we are engaged for.
Again, the second speaker also a woman could not control her joy while thanking the office of the Ag. Education Secretary for initiating the first ever meeting.
According her, ” I was employed twenty two years ago throughout my service years we were treated differently and our ordeal was attributed to our background as we think.
” Now, we are happy simply because the Ag. Education Secretary has now re- candled our hope, as I am speaking to you; it seems all teachers irrespective of our background received equal treatment and attention we are happy for the turned of event we are witnessing”.
In his welcome address,Mallam Hamisu Ado welcomed all the attendees informing them that in order to coordinate their activities as Arabic Head Teachers a desk officer was assigned to their plight.
He promised to ensure all Islamiyya School be it Public or Private get registration and certification with the Islamic and Arabic Education Board.
Doing that will help the schools access certain intervention from the board.
