Retired Army General Maharazu Tsiga has revealed the harrowing details of his time in captivity, describing how he and other victims were held in the wild alongside dangerous animals, including hyenas and snakes.
Recounting his ordeal, General Tsiga stated that the kidnappers subjected them to extreme psychological and physical distress, keeping them in inhumane conditions deep in the forest. “We were left at the mercy of wild creatures. At night, we could hear the growls of hyenas and the slithering of snakes around us,” he said.
The retired general, who was abducted along with others, endured days of fear and uncertainty before regaining freedom. While details of the rescue remain undisclosed, his account highlights the escalating security crisis in the country.
The shocking revelation has sparked fresh concerns about the growing boldness of criminal elements, as security agencies intensify efforts to curb the menace of kidnappings and banditry.
