Wanted Bandit Kingpin Ado Aleru Resurfaces Online — Flaunts Power in Viral Photos, TikTok Video

Despite being on security watchlists and declared wanted by authorities, notorious bandit leader Ado Aleru has resurfaced—this time, not in the bush but online.

In a chilling show of defiance, Aleru appeared in fresh photos and a viral TikTok video now circulating on Facebook, confidently posing with an entourage of armed men in full combat gear. The images, believed to have been taken somewhere within the ungoverned territories of Zamfara or Katsina, portray the fugitive kingpin in what appears to be a power statement amid intensified military operations.

The short video clip, reportedly uploaded through proxy accounts, shows Aleru delivering what many interpreted as a warning to rival groups and Nigerian security agencies, while his men chant in the background.

The resurgence has sparked outrage among Nigerians online, with many questioning how a declared criminal still enjoys access to social media platforms and continues to evade capture despite multiple offensives launched by security forces.

Security analysts warn that Aleru’s digital appearance is a calculated move meant to boost morale among his followers and intimidate both civilians and authorities.

A senior intelligence source, speaking anonymously, said, “This is psychological warfare. He’s trying to remain relevant, show strength, and possibly recruit.”

Aleru, who was controversially turbaned as Sarkin Fulanin Yandoton Daji in 2022 before national backlash, has been linked to numerous deadly attacks and kidnappings in the North West.

As calls mount for Facebook and TikTok to take down the content and for intensified intelligence operations, the big question remains: How long will Ado Aleru continue to taunt the nation from behind a smartphone screen?
