In a major boost for healthcare and medical education in Yobe State, Governor Mai Mala Buni, CON, COMN, today inspected the newly completed Department of Community Medicine building at the Yobe State Teaching Hospital.
The inspection follows the recent announcement of full accreditation granted by the West African College of Physicians (WACP), marking a significant milestone for the institution and the state’s health sector.
Governor Buni, visibly impressed by the quality and scale of the facility, emphasized his administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and professional training in the state.
“This achievement is not just for Yobe but for the entire Northeast region. It positions our teaching hospital as a hub for community medicine and public health expertise,” Buni stated.
The WACP accreditation is expected to pave the way for postgraduate training in Community Medicine, attracting talent and improving access to quality healthcare services.
Officials of the Yobe State Teaching Hospital and WACP representatives hailed the development as a game-changer in the region’s medical landscape.
