The Katsina State Government has lauded the efforts of the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, troops of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Police, DSS, Community Watch Corps, and Vigilantes for a highly successful operation neutralizing bandit camps in Jibia Local Government Area.
The joint offensive, executed on January 4, 2025, targeted notorious hideouts in Kadoji, Matso-Matso, Bagga, Dogon Marke, and Takatsaba. Acting on credible intelligence, the operation decimated the bandits’ operational bases, neutralizing 80 criminals and injuring several others. Their camps and facilities were completely destroyed, dealing a crippling blow to their activities in Jibia, Batsari, and Batagarawa LGAs.
Dr. Nasir Muazu, Katsina’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, commended the relentless efforts of the security forces in safeguarding lives and restoring peace across the state. “This achievement reflects the unwavering commitment of our joint security forces in the fight against banditry. The Katsina State Government remains resolute in supporting their operations to ensure sustained peace in our communities.”
The operation marks a significant step forward in the state’s ongoing battle to reclaim safety and stability in Katsina and the broader North West region.
