The Daughter of the former governor of Bauchi state, Khadiza Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar was Friday in Bauchi given out for marriage on the dowry of N300, 000 to Mohammed Sadiq Wanka.
The hands of Khadija Mohammed Abubakar was given out according to religious obligatory marriage’s rite by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima who announced the dowry for the bribe, and received by the groom’s henchman and Cigarin Bauchi, Alh. Yusuf Yakubu Wanka.
The wedding event of Khadija also coincided with the turbaning ceremony of her father, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar (SAN) who was during his tenure as governor of the state appointed the MAKAMA BABBA, a district head position in the Bauchi emirate council hierarchy.
Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar ruled Bauchi as the state governor between 2015 – 2019 for his first term tenure, but was unable to scale through to the second tenure in the 2019 polls, when he was defeated by the incumbent Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
The turbaning ceremony of MAKAMA BABBA of Bauchi was witnessed by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, for national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu who was also a former governor of the state.
It was also witnessed by the chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Gombe State Governor, His Excellency, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, and the deputy governors of Bauchi and Yobe state, among others.
The wedding fatiha of Khadija Mohammed Abubakar was supervised by His Royal Highness the Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, presided over by the State Chief Imam, Alh. Bala Ahmed Baban-Inna impressively held at the Emir’s Palace.
In a remark shortly after the turbaning ceremony, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed congratulated the former governor over his turbaning as a district head in Bauchi emirate council.
Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed explained that
the former governor definitely deserved the traditional title based upon his predree and the eminent position he occupies in the nation as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
He commended the Vice President for taking his time to be in Bauchi, saying “On behalf of the Government and people of Bauchi state, and on behalf of the celebrants, Your Excellency, the Vice President, we want to thank you most sincerely for honouring our invitation to grace this historic occasion.
The Governor noted with delight that despite the crowded schedules of the Vice President, he was able to honour the invitation where he witnessed and blessed the turbaning ceremony of MAKAMA BABBA of Bauchi, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar (SAN).
Senator Bala Mohammed told the Vice President, “You have shared your leadership, you have shared your love and versatile position with the good people of Bauchi state, you have shared your versatile position with the people”.
Governor Bala described the former governor as very amiable person who distinguished himself in the national psyche and his good community relations with the Bauchi emirate stands as a testiment for bestowing him the title.
