The Governor of Kebbi State Dr. Nasir Idris has received resounding accolades from a veteran Journalist and All Progressives Congress chieftain Ibrahim Jirgi.
Jirgi, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Triple Cee Media Ltd Abuja, in a chat with journalists in Abuja said Governor Idris has made significant strides in transforming the state since assuming office.
“His tenure has witnessed remarkable progress in various sectors, particularly in agriculture, education, and healthcare.
Under his leadership, Kebbi State is experiencing a remarkable transformation, making it a shining example of progress and development.
“Nasir Idris, has flagged off the construction and upgrade of 120 secondary schools across the state valued at N8.9bn.
The programme, which was under the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment in collaboration with the World Bank and Dominat Engineering Limited aimed at promoting the education sector by providing a conducive learning environment for children. ,” he said.
The governor’s commitment to agriculture, Jirgi said, has led to increased agricultural productivity and food security through innovative policies and initiatives.
“He has also prioritized education by investing heavily in the construction and renovation of schools and implementing scholarship programs for financially disadvantaged students.
In the healthcare sector, Dr. Idris implemented policies aimed at improving access to quality healthcare services by constructing and equipping primary healthcare centers in rural areas,” he said.
According to Jirgi, Governor Idris has made significant achievements during his tenure as Governor of Kebbi State through his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to progress.
“Under Dr Nasir Idris’ leadership in Kebbi State there have been significant improvements in infrastructure development such as road construction projects that have improved connectivity within the state facilitating trade and commerce.
The governor’s administration has also invested heavily in education by constructing new schools across the state while renovating existing ones.
“He initiated the construction and rehabilitation of major roads across the state.
For instance, the completion of the Birnin Kebbi-Kangiwa road has significantly improved transportation and connectivity between these two important towns.
He has already flagged off Yauri township road and moved to Zuru and Arugungu Emirates whike pledging to extend a similar gesture to the other three Emirates.
This development has facilitated the movement of goods, enhanced trade, and boosted the overall economy of the state,” Jirgi said.
