Varsity of Education Kontagora Achieves 100% Success in NUC Resource Assessment Visit

The Federal University of Education Kontagora has recorded a remarkable 100% success in the Resource Assessment Visit conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) from June 11-14, 2025. According to Mr.

Andrew Ibrahim, Director of Information and Protocol, this achievement paves the way for the university to commence full operations and admit students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The university invites candidates who scored 150 and above in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and those with National Certificate in Education (NCE) certificates to apply for admission. The academic session is slated to begin in September 2025.

The university has been approved to offer the following undergraduate courses Arts and Humanities
– B.A (Ed) Arabic Language
– B.A (Ed) English Language
– B.A (Ed) Christian Religious Studies
– B.A (Ed) Hausa Education
– B.A (French Language Education)
– B.A (Ed) Islamic Studies
– B.A (Ed) History
– B.A (Ed) Yoruba
– B.A (Ed) Creative Art Education

Other courses include, Education and Social Sciences
– B.Ed Educational Management
– B.Ed Guidance and Counseling
– B.Ed Educational Technology
– B.Ed Library and Information Service
– B.Ed Early Childhood Education
– B.Ed Primary Education
– B.Ed Special Needs
– B.Ed Adult Continuing Education
– B.Ed Social Studies and Civic Education.

The NUC’s accreditation process ensures that universities meet specific standards in terms of academic programs, staffing, physical facilities, and library resources.

According to the NUC’s report, programs that score up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities, and Library) are recommended for full accreditation status.

The successful assessment visit is a testament to the university’s commitment to providing quality education. With this achievement, the Federal University of Education Kontagora is poised to become a leading institution in Nigeria’s education sector.
